Name some photographers whose work have really influenced you.
To be honest, I don’t follow a lot of really famous photographers and couldn’t name a lot. If I had to choose a photographer that has influenced me I’d say my dearest brother Ryan Lash. He and I met while he was teaching a photography class in Israel and I was his sarcastic, loud-mouthed “student”. That was 14 years ago. Since then we literally see one another at least once a year for at least five days and during those five days ALL we are doing is shooting, from the time we wake up until well in to the night. We have taken the craziest, wackiest photos and also some of the most beautiful photographs together. They are so precious to me. We are laughing almost the entire time we’re working. Working side by side with him is really inspiring to me. If I had to name a famous photographer, it would be William Eggleston for his longing and nostalgia for a time that was stripped down and more simple. I also get really excited when I see Hassan Hajjaj’s work; I love the art of a portrait, like the subject sitting there knowing their portrait is going to be taken, and a scene and backdrop to be set - there’s a lost art in that.
