So you were drawn to that California aesthetic?
Yes, but without being too bohemian. The sunshine, the outdoors with that refined sensibility that is represented through the little details like the seams, the cut, the fabric and the natural colours. But I was also recently in Greece and I was really inspired by the colours I saw there, the pale pink, the soft black, the marble on the beach. I tend to go back to these experiences over and over again. I am really inspired by architecture and my travels.
Going back to the California vibe, I love Aaron Slim’s imagery. The idea of a blond rockstar in a Kimono with sneakers. I love that denim was invented here, now it belongs to everyone but there is something very utilitarian and functional about it, while at the same time it can be really elegant.
