I had been an observer of Layli's from afar for some years before we ever met. We had many mutual friends but somehow following her blog without knowing her, and reading her profound and personal thoughts made me feel like a bit of a stalker. (That was before Instagram and the obligation to stalk random strangers on a daily if not hourly basis.)
Her photography felt really magical and melancholic and sometimes fantastical to me, so when I thought about this project I really hoped she would get on board. Lucky for me she did, and through her lens we have been able to capture the fiercely creative spirit of the ladies I have interviewed so far. But I really needed her to be on the other side of that lens too. Here she is talking about the things that inspire her and feed her creative process.
