Eventually I learned there was a degree in product design. That I could do something that involved the design of anything AND making things with my hands. It blew my mind. A light switched on and I was all about it. I studied at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena where I designed furniture and handbags and jewelry and cars and worked the hardest I'd ever worked. Not sleeping for 3 nights at a stretch to finish projects, blood sweat and tears kind of thing. It was really eye opening. I worked creating furniture for a while when I graduated until I decided to get into handbags one night - and the next morning I got an email recruiting me to my first job in the business. It felt very natural, and very meant to be.
