And since you have lived in so many different cities around the world, do you feel a pull to pack up and go to experience other places?
CONSTANTLY. The longest I’ve lived anywhere was Juneau, Alaska. I lived in Juneau for 9 years. After that, I literally moved every year and a half and had moved 8 times in 10 years, all around the world. After that, the longest I lived anywhere was 4 years in Olympia, Washington where I went to college.
I have felt a pull literally every six months since living in LA. And I’ve been here SEVEN YEARS now. Baktash teases me and has a song he sings to me called “she’s restless...you can see it in her eyes…” some Patrick Swayze thing, but it’s true - I’m totally restless. But it’s not bad - I just love adventure so, so, so much. I know it might sound cheesy, but life is so short and there is so much of the world to experience, new friends to meet, new sacred places to find, new adventures to have. I feel like moving every so often makes my life so much more rich and full. The world is so big and there are so many lives to have. And I also want that for Zia to know how big and diverse and exciting the world is.
