What was the path like-transforming your passion into businesses?
I felt like it was a long path. Living only listening to your heart’s call and only doing things that you’re passionate about - it’s not the easiest, most “stable” way of living. I could have been a lawyer or an engineer and had a job for the rest of my life; I could have chosen to have a job to make money. That isn’t a jab at people who choose that for themselves in the least, I’m just saying, being an artist and choosing to do the work I do, which is also to work for myself and do the work I want to do - it’s hard at times. But obviously I wouldn’t trade it for anything; I’d honestly die inside if I had a job I didn’t feel passionate about. So knowing that about myself, I just have to make this work - I don’t really have a choice. But I have to really dig deep sometimes and find the self-motivation to keep on trucking. I love, love collaborating, and sometimes it’s hard working for myself, as I really have to bring the motivation, the organization - all of it. All me. But thankfully, with the consulting, I’m always working with others, usually teams of people or communities, so that helps energize me. And of course, with my photography, I’m constantly meeting new people/clients.
